During the last year (FY 05-06), Safe Harbor provided:
In fiscal year 2005-2006, approximately 152 adults and children where provided with shelter. In the community our counselor saw 67 adults for supportive counseling with no cost to the client. Our children’s counselor worked with 110 children in the shelter and in the community. Volunteers, staff and interns provided advocacy through the Henrico County courts to 429 adults. Our trained hotline specialists received 1,763 calls to our 24-hour crisis confidential hotline (804-287-7877). Safe Harbor also provided education and outreach to 4,042 individuals.
Our case manager and counselors provided 505 case management hours for clients to assist them with their housing & employment options. Our counselors provided 1,055 supportive counseling hours to clients helping them with their emotional needs. Our children’s counselor assisted parents in the community and in the shelter with their parenting skills through 131 hours.
Approximately 104 support group sessions were provided.
Safe Harbor was fortunate to have 3,950 hours of service donated from community volunteers who provided hotline & shelter coverage, administrative, governance & professional assistance.
